Home - School Partnership

Student learning progress is achieved by the school and home working in partnership.  At home you can support your child’s learning by spending time with them to play games together, talking about current events, doing family chores, watching documentaries, and reading for example.

Home Learning Programme:

Your child may bring home an outline for the week’s home learning.  It is optional.  It may include:

* Specific and generic tasks set by the teacher (some of which may be accessed from website).

* Student self-selected learning tasks to practice learning.

* Student self-selected learning tasks to complete.

Student Online Learning Portfolios (Educa)

Every child has an online Learning Portfolio which we use to share and report on student learning and progress.  This online portfolio will provide ongoing real-time reporting, providing a secure and interactive environment where teachers and parents/whānau can share learning stories, photos and videos, and collaborate on student learning.  You are able to access your child’s portfolio via your home or work computer, or via the Educa App available on both iphone and android

Parent/Caregiver Involvement

We welcome and value parent/caregiver involvement in our school. You may wish to be involved by providing help in your child/ren’s classroom, assisting with transport on trips or by joining the Fundraising Committee or working bees. When visiting the school, please report to the Office.

Parent support in classrooms is negotiated with teachers and parents and based on learning needs. You are welcome to contact the classroom teacher or principal if you are interested in providing support.
